# Routing

> Configure and operate signal routing in Buttons, from physical routes and Presets to virtual routing, Tielines and Projects.

Routing in Buttons connects sources to destinations on the connections you have added, such as an ATEM or a video router. Start with the physical model, label your ports, then take and inspect routes from the Routing view. Presets let you recall a known setup in one step. The later guides are for technical staff who design routing for a facility: virtual routing puts a logical layer between operators and hardware, Tielines make several routers behave as one, and Projects keep the routes held for a production together so they can be released when it is over.
