# Position workflow nodes

> React to NFC tag reads from surfaces assigned to a position and tell which surface and position received them.

Use these nodes to receive input associated with positions and their assigned surfaces. Choose a node NFC Reader : react when a surface assigned to a position reads an nfc tag NFC Reader React when a surface assigned to a position reads an NFC tag. What you see in the editor Add the node to a workflow that should respond to NFC reads. After a read, the card shows the latest NFC ID, surface, position, and time. Use the surface and position outputs when the same workflow must distinguish where the tag was read. Connections Kind Label What it provides Output NFC ID The ID from the latest read. Output Surface ID The surface that received it. Output Position ID The position assigned to that surface. Output Timestamp When the read occurred. There's no output event handle on the card: react to a new read by connecting the value outputs downstream instead. Example Connect NFC ID to Case Switch to branch on which tag was scanned, and use Position ID to limit the response to the intended control position.
